Even
in the path of a Hurricane and an uncertain economy,
Breeders Edge pulls off another successful auction!
With more than 100 confirmed guests unable to
attend due to Hurricane Irene, 51% of the animals
sold with an average price of $10,734.29. Thank
you to those consignors and purchasers who weathered
the storm to make this another successful auction!
We are happy to announce the following
results from the 2011 Breeders Edge® Auction:
- The high selling
female alpaca was ELK Matrix's Dream Possession,
a true black daughter of Snowmass Matrix. She
sold for $25,000. Thank you and congratulations
to buyers Alex & Heather Lysantri of Breezy
Hill Farm and to sellers Ernest & Barbara
Kellogg of Double "O" Good Alpacas.
- The high selling
male alpaca was HRF Samson, a Bay Black son
of 21-time Champion, HRF Peruvian Challenger.
Samson sold for $9,000. Congratulations to buyers
Sue Hammer & Judy Howe of Wildwood Alpacas
and to sellers Kaye & Robert Provost of
Hickory Ridge Farm Alpacas.
- Debra Lamberto of Alpacas of Menges Mills
won the drawing for a free breeding Snowmass
Matrix!
- Glenn & Elaine Orme of Tuckahoe Treasures
Alpaca Farm won the Alpaca Bingo Grand Prize
of a free junior herdsire; they took home 3X
Blue Ribbon winner, ELK Maykon's Langdon.
- The herdsire services auction raised $7,650.00
to be donated to Dr. Chris Cebra's camelid research
projects at Oregon State.
- Double "O" Good is donating 100%
of the proceeds from the sale of Lot 66 in the
amount of $7,000 to Quechua Benefit.
- The winners of the Bucks Raffle were Michael
& Debbie Riggan and Timothy & Rexanne
Goss who each won $1,300.00 in cash!
- All proceeds from the sale of Bucks Raffle
tickets, totaling $4,700, are being donated
to a U.S. children's homeless charity.
- There were FIVE winners of the costume contest;
each won a FREE BREEDING to MFI Peruvian Titan's
Clash! Congratulations to Tammy Eaves, Ann Stachowski,
Jason Hodges, Emily Seiler, and Michael Riggan.
