These alpaca experts provided advice to attendees and remote bidders on our selection of world-class alpacas at the 2011 Breeders Edge® Auction.

Complimentary alpaca evaluations by AOBA-certified Judges

Breeders Edge® is pleased to provide on-site, phone and Internet bidders with free consultations on the alpacas in the auction.

At the 2011 Auction, AOBA-certified judges Diana Timmerman and Wade Gease provided individual consultations in person at the auction and via phone for absentee bidders. These experts provided neutral evaluations for those who wanted additional information and assistance in selecting alpacas and making purchases.

She has over 17 years of experience breeding and showing alpacas and their fleece, along with over 30 years of experience raising other breeds of livestock. She has judged in Canada and the United States since 2001. Her love for alpacas and her commitment to fleece education was the inspiration that led to the purchase of The Alpaca Breeders Fiber School, LLC. Diana is also an alpaca industry consultant, educator and Fiber Sorter and Grader.

Diana currently serves on the AFCNA Board, AOBA Judge's Advisory Council and has served on the Advisory Board for the Mid-America Alpaca Foundation, the Board of Directors of The Alpaca Breeders of the Rockies, is a faculty member and owner of the Alpaca Breeders Fiber School, LLC and past leader of the Leading Llamas and Alpacas 4-H Club.

Note: Animals purchased at the 2011 Breeders Edge Auction will be disqualified from showing under Wade Gease and Diana Timmerman for nine months as per the AOBA Show Rules. After weighing out the pros and cons of having AOBA-certified judges and their expertise to provide unbiased evaluations for both the consignor(s) and purchaser(s), we felt the benefits far outweighed the negatives of potentially missing a show.
